Sans Souci Sea Devils Host Record Breaking Summer Carnival

Sans Souci Sea Devils Host Record Breaking Summer Carnival cover

Sans Souci Leisure Centre, home of the Sans Souci Sea Devils Swim Club, recently played host to its Annual Summer Swim Meet across two action packed days on Friday 27 February and Sunday 1 March.

It was a fantastic celebration of competitive swimming and community spirit, with the Sea Devils proudly welcoming families, friends, and visiting clubs from all over New South Wales.

We were excited to host more than 400 swimmers over the weekend. Competitors travelled from across Sydney and as far afield as Orange, Mudgee, Newcastle, and Dapto. Blessed with beautiful sunshine, the atmosphere provided the perfect backdrop for a fast and fun weekend of racing.

Outstanding Results on the Board

The talent on display was second to none. Our swimmers pushed their limits, resulting in:

29 New Records broken throughout the meet.
Numerous State and National qualifying times achieved.
Personal bests across almost every age group.

Community Spirit in Action

Beyond the pool, the event was a true community effort. The BBQ was sizzling all weekend, the raffle prizes were a huge hit, and there was a constant buzz of excitement from the grandstands.

We were also honoured to have several special guests join us to celebrate our athletes’ achievements:

Mayor Elise Borg and Councillor Natalie Mort from Georges River Council, who assisted in presenting medals to our deserving swimmers.

The Hon. Steve Kamper, NSW Minister for Sport, who met with our competitors and shared inspiring words on the importance of staying connected to the water and striving for sporting success.

All in all, it was a hugely successful 2026 Carnival for the Sans Souci Sea Devils! A massive thank you to all the volunteers, officials, and families who made this event possible. We can’t wait to see you all back on the blocks next year.
