Are you ready to clear your mind and embrace a fresh perspective?
Welcome to Mindful May!
It’s your official excuse to hit pause, kick back, and finally book that mindful class at your health club. Whether it’s Body Balance, Yoga or Virtual Reformer the opportunities are endless. It’s time to move intentionally for your mind as well as your body to align your mindset.
Over the next four weeks. We’ll be exploring four key pillars designed to help you find your focus. We’ll dive into the power of intentional journaling, explore the benefits of meditation apps, share effective tips for better sleep, and look at why stepping outside into nature can be the ultimate reset button for your daily routine.
Setting Intentions:
To kick things off, this week is all about journaling with intention. The simple, grounding practice of writing, while fully present and aware.
Setting intentions is a deliberate and conscious act that helps you identify what’s important to you. It creates a mental framework to help you maintain focus on what matters in your life, or to reroute and realign your focus when needed.

Studies show setting intentions has a range of benefits including:
- Better emotional regulation
- Improved mental health
- Reduced stress and anxiety (relaxing your nervous system from a potentially heightened sympathetic nervous to a at ease parasympathetic system)
- Increases productivity and focus
- Improved Resilience (writing it down provides a mental anchor, so when a setback or something jumps up in your life you can reroute and maintain your long term goal pursuit.)
- Helps to aid personal development
So this month we’re challenging you! Grab a journal, pen and cuppa.
Write down 4 intentions.
This could mean focusing on being more:
- Present
- Grateful
- Trusting
- Accepting
- Patient
For example: ‘This May I strive to be more grateful and look at all of the positives in my life rather than the negatives.’
This could even be a practice. If you want to focus more on gratitude you could set an intention to practice gratitude every day by just taking five minutes and writing down three things you’re grateful for.
So kick back and relax, open to a fresh page in your journal, and take a quiet moment to set your 4 May intentions!
